User Profile

The member profile page is where you can review and adjust a number of settings and goals that affect various numbers you'll see throughout the site:

  • Weight Goal — Set your weight goal and target date, and change it as often as you like. NutriMirror® will advise you if your settings seem unrealistic or unhealthy.
  • Exercise Goal — This provides a target to shoot for, but does not affect other calculations on the site. We will, however, show you an estimate of your average daily calorie expenditure if you were to meet the exercise goals you set for yourself.
  • Diet Preferences — By default, we follow USDA recommendations that allow you to get your calories from a range of sources: 45 to 65% from carbohydrates; 20 to 35% from fats; and 10 to 35% from protein. However, users are able to adjust these percentages according to any particular diet plan they wish to follow.
  • Resting Metabolic Rate — This is the rate at which a body at rest burns calories. Your RMR is a function of your age, gender, height, weight, and other factors, and serves as the basis for computing your daily calorie recommendations. NutriMirror® will automatically adjust your RMR whenever you update your weight (or any other data affecting your metabolism). For expert users, we have also given you the power to override your RMR as needed.
  • calorie allowance
  • Lifestyle Activity — Set your lifestyle activity according to the number of hours and intensity level of your average workweek. Include your average number of hours of sleep per night, and NutriMirror® will combine your lifestyle numbers with your RMR to compute your estimated total daily metabolic rate. This is the number of calories you will burn on an average day (not including additional exercises). If you eat more calories than you expend, then you gain weight; if you eat fewer than you expend, you lose weight.
