| November 20, 2009, 9:02 am Obsessing needs to stop! | For the past 2 weeks now I haven't dropped a pound.
All that after starting to exercise after 5 weeks of surgery and being sick recovery.
So, I've been exercising for 2 weeks 5 days 60 minutes each and staying green on my calories and all other areas.
I've been playing with the exercise logs and my activity level. I wonder if I don't have it all accurate. It's hard to know how many hours I spend in light activity and which exercise to enter on the logs when I have to guess which exercise matches the one I actually did.
I weigh myself ... |

So Kel doesn't have to do the math for everybody, I've created a new page that will update automatically every day. It only counts users active within the most recent six months, so I don't expect to see dramatic changes to the numbers each day. But I've broken out some averages based on how active people are with the system. As you can see, the more you log, the more you lose.
I'll create a better link so you can find this page more easily later, but for now just click below:

continue reading 33 comments May 26, 2009, 3:25 pm I must be doing something right... | I was plateau'ed for a long time, about 3 weeks, and it was really frustrating because I was hovering right around my first goal of 200 lbs.
Well, I must be doing something right because in the last two weeks I've gone back to losing 2 lbs a week again, something I haven't been able to maintain since I was seeing my personal trainer every week last fall!
Over the weekend I felt really lazy, so after a normal breakfast my husband and I went out to eat for a late lunch/early dinner. Saturday we had BBQ (I couldn't finish the meal ... |
continue reading 9 comments May 14, 2009, 6:45 pm Finally broke the big 2-0-0 | I went to the gym today and weighed in. I've been hovering around 202lbs for around two weeks. Today I was 199.8! I'm going to count that as under 200, and say that I finally met my first weight goal! ... |
continue reading 25 comments May 5, 2009, 4:28 pm Step Aerobics kicked my behind! | So, I've wanted to try some of the classes that are free with my gym membership. Here it is in May (I joined in September) and I'm just now getting around to something besides yoga. :)
They actually canceled the yoga class I used to go to on Tuesdays because it wasn't getting enough people (that's why I liked it!), and they've now replaced it with a class called "Step n Sculpt". It's basically 30 minutes of intermediate step aerobics and then 30 minutes of stretching and weight training.
Have I ever done step aerobics before? Only if you count when I ... |

I never felt as big as I was until I looked at a photograph of myself. Don't even get my started on my wedding photos from four years ago.. my husband and I have joked about re-shooting them :)
Anyway, I added two photos to my profile today, one to replace my oldest photo, as the one I added better shows my body shape, and one to show my recent progress. Hooray for not being afraid of cameras!
BTW, I think I'm making an awfully funny face in the most recent picture, but it showed off my curves the best! :)
Now I'm ... |
continue reading 18 comments April 20, 2009, 10:08 am Taking a break? | So, when I started to make all these lifestyle changes in August '08, my goal was to get down to at least 200 pounds in two years. I'm currently at 202ish. When I started seeing a trainer last fall, she asked me what my IDEAL weight would be, and I said 160 pounds, around what I weighed when I started high school. She suggested a happy medium of 180 pounds, and when I got there I could decide on the last 20 pounds.
What made her pick a goal above my ideal was the fact that I have been overweight for ... |
continue reading 8 comments April 12, 2009, 1:14 pm Not sure if I want to share just yet... | I joined a "lose to win" competition at my community center in February. I joined NM early March. I have been kicking some butt in the competition (although there are two men who have greater percentage weight loss than me) I was the top female in the mid-challenge weigh-in. THANK YOU NM!! I want to tell everyone, but the competitor in me is saying... wait just a bit. I'm feeling guilty that I am withholding a gem of a secret. I am making up for it though, by telling everyone else. I just want to thank ALL OF YOU for ... |
continue reading 3 comments March 5, 2009, 7:57 am Should I be in a rush? | When I started trying to lose weight in August, I knew that losing 2 pounds a week was OK for my size, and I had the approval of my doctor and trainer. My goal is to get down to around 180 pounds by the time my husband and I want to start trying for kids in another year and a half. I was able to keep up around 1.8 pounds a week from August through Christmas, but since then, the I've dropped to 1.5 or 1.2 pounds a week. I've also gotten a little lazier since I stopped my training ... |
