| September 14, 2009, 10:58 am I'm Baaaaaaack ! What did I miss? | Hello everyone! I'm back from my Miami visit and weekend float trip. And, while I'm sad vacation is over and I'm back to work, I'm so glad to be able to focus on NM again. I feel like I've missed so much.
Miami was fabulous. It wasn't nearly as hot as I thought it would be. Spent 2 days at the beach and one day at the pool. And, yes, the beach was "au natural", and, yes, I was sans swimsuit. Oh my!
Even though I did make my friend take me to the grocery store when I arrived, as I ... |
continue reading 6 comments September 3, 2009, 5:58 pm Vacation time ... | Yes, I'll be on vacation for the next week. Visiting a friend in Miami, FL for a few days, home for 2 days, then a float trip the next weekend.
I will have some access to a computer while in Miami, but none on the float trip. Funny thing is, while I won't have access to a computer on the float trip, I will have control over my food, 'cause we're pretty much bringing our own food. But, when in Miami, when I will have access to a computer, I won't have as much control over food choices. I may just ... |

Pheasant Cordon Bleu

Venison Roast (my favorite meal of the week)
Hello NM family! I have had a very relaxing week or so in the chilly but beautiful lakeside town of Colchester, VT. No television, no computers, not even a newspaper. . Even the cellular phone reception was lousy and unreliable. We truly got away from it all. It was wonderful.
We packed much of our own food and I began the week with paper logs and an abundance of exercise. I also swam/dove/snorkeled almost every day ... |
continue reading 15 comments July 9, 2009, 2:54 pm Just For Next Week: Vacation Vows | Whew, what a crazy week it has been. My post last week about the car repairs, the missed gym class, and the death of the iPod morphed into one of those cartoon snowballs rolling down the side of a mountain.
This week has been full of all kinds of fun including having a credit card (and a wee amount of cash) stolen out of my purse (which has made replacing my iPod nearly impossible), pushing all work tasks right up to deadlines and the icing on the cake was that my daughter Maya had to be taken to the ER last ... |
continue reading 9 comments July 7, 2009, 11:00 am "Normal" people just don't understand...**RANT** | I spent last week on a mission trip rehabbing homes in the Appalachian mountains in Kentucky. I was worried about the food on the trip, but it turned out to be ok, what with working 10 hours a day on construction, the daily fare of cereal, fruit, PB&J, and whatever was for dinner was just about right. I did indulge in a little desert just about every night, but over-all I know I stayed well below maintenance calories. What turned out to be a nightmare was the two days of travel before and after the trip! 10+ hours in a ... |
continue reading 48 comments June 30, 2009, 7:25 am Goin' to San Diego!! | I'm really getting excited now! I leave for San Diego on Friday to spend an extended holiday with my son who's stationed at Miramar. I'm so antsy, it's hard to focus on anything else right now (I should be working...oy!)
Anyway, I was looking for great walking trails. I'm sure the base is fine but nothing like an ocean view! I would love to walk the route for the walkathon but don't know my way around. Any input and directions would be much appreciated! Plus it would be so funny to see his face when I say..."I know of this great ... |
continue reading 13 comments June 26, 2009, 11:48 am A week without NM is like a week without sunshine... | Although I'm hoping I'll have plenty of sunshine! My husband and I are going to be on a building trip to Eastern Kentucky for the next week. Besides going crazy getting all the details ready (I mean, I just finished teaching on Tuesday, and I've spent the entirety of my summer vacation so far running errands and doing chores!) I will be without computers for a week.
I'm not too worried about exercise, as we will be spending 10 hour days painting, building, etc. Wednesday we have off for a fun day, and I think we'll go hiking or canoeing, ... |
continue reading 4 comments June 21, 2009, 9:04 am Hello! :-) | Hi, I'm Jonni and I just joined NM a few minutes ago. I'm 16, 5'4, and approximately 200lbs right now (NM requires you to be 18 to join because the tools and statistics used and given are partly related to age, etc.), but I'm well informed enough to know the difference between an 18 year old's body and mine, and that I'm still a growing teenager who needs my nutrition.
I've heard so many statistics about how logging foods truly does help someone lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, and I'm here to lose the weight. After all, I am ... |
continue reading 21 comments May 16, 2009, 10:23 am Bad Vacation | Well, I knew that going on Vacation for 2 Weeks would ruin me... so, I've gained back all the weight I had lost UGH. Now its time to refocus and get back on track. Wish me luck, again.
*Also, if you look at my food logs the intake of calories for the last couple of days is low because I haven't been feeling well. ... |

Vacation.... | Sunday I will be heading towards Atlantic Beach, NC (close to my hometown) to stay with some friends for a few weeks...and I'm scared to death!!! I will still be able to log in my foods...but my friends don't have the same habits that I do and I'm sure I'll be seeing RED RED RED RED!!! I also have no clue when I would be able to get exercise in EVERYDAY??.... I'm nervous that I will fall off of the wagon, again. :( Does anyone have any tips for leaving your comfort zone and still staying ON the wagon? ... |
