Update on Chinese Dinner
CamperJ
CamperJ
I want to thank everyone who helped me decide what to order for my Lions meeting at a Chinese restaurant. I ended up ordering Sweet & Sour Chicken (S&SC), Brown Rice, & skipping the fortune cookie. I had intended to eat 4-8 oz of S&SC and 1 cup of brown rice, and use the Panda Express entry for the S&SC. The problem I had was portion control. I had my small scale in my coat pocket, but did not really want to sit at the table and measure out my food. I decided to take 1/2 of the S&SC and ...

Maintenance FINALLY
drmurph
drmurph
Today I finally hit maintenance!!! WUUUHOOO!Heck,I don't know if anyone even remembers me, I haven't journaled in months and only rarely responded to others but I have been here everyday. I have finally hit my third and for now final goal of 15 lbs, which is a total of 45 lbs lost since committing faithfully to NM in April of 09. The last few pounds were very stubborn and I really think my body is telling me this is where I need to be, at least for now. My new journey is to incorporate more strength training, body toning and ...

Update
PTmomof2
PTmomof2
I got to go see my cousin today that I had told you all about in September who had esophageal CA. He has lost about 60 lbs due to maving difficulty with eating different temperatures, taste buds being off and just the general blah from chemo but he is feeling good. We drove down to Port Charlotte where they have their winter home and spent a few hours with them! The kids loved getting to run around outside a bit (of course for us it is 80 degrees today) and it was nice to visit with them. They are hoping ...

Green Day Challengers Please Read
I've reposted this so it will stay for everyone to read...

Green Day Challengers Who have Adjusted your Diet Preferences
When you change your Diet Preferences you are no longer accountable for Total Fat, Total Carbs and Protein in the readout on your Public Page. We do not feel that it would be fair to allow 14 to have a free ride on 3 areas that could cause the other 103 players to have a Red day.
So, in fairness to the majority and for the sanity of the Captains, we are asking those of you who have adjusted your Diet Preferences ...

Bethany (1/2 of M.O.M) updateFirst, thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts. The people on this site are so caring, it is such a wonderful "family"!

I'll keep you posted. And, again, thank you. ...

FINALLY updated my photo...Oops, OUR PHOTO.Summer is here after all.

This was taken about 3 months ago. Since my husband and I are both part of NM now, I thought it would be nice to post our "team" photo.

He still won't post a photo or journal but at least you all know what he looks like! We both are noticibly smaller down at least one size and my hair is shorter now but I will post another photo later. mmm. when...

At least I don't look like I live in the snow year-round anymore... :)

btw: he doesn't have a spot on his tie, the spot ...

My Home is painted Green! and a few thoughts!

I just checked my home page and everything is totally GREEN!! Even the percentages of Fat, Protein and Carbohydrates are so close it is downright scary!
Three months and 10 days into this fabulous new way of eating and living and I am really getting it.
Now, this may be an oversimplification but it is how I look at it at this point....
You set goals that challenge you but aren't impossible...eat the right foods, in the right quantities for you to meet your goals, add exercise that pushes you but is physically possible for your individual condition and use the tools ...

Update on Henry

Update on HenryHi family,
Here's the update on my little rescue dog. This pic is from when he had both legs in splints.

For starters, those of you who are new, I have adopted Henry. He was taken to the vet with two broken hind legs that had been broken long enough for him to learn how to walk on his front ones sometimes. He was so sweet and let the vet examine him that she decided to try to fix him up instead of putting him down. Long story short, I heard about him and decided he might make a good companion to ...

An update on me
So, I went to the gym for the first time since Friday, and the good news is I'm down 2 pounds. I had a really long workout (55 minutes on the elliptical) and even did my regular strength training routine which I've been ignoring. I'm supposed to do everything 3 days a week, or 2 if I do yoga, but I've been lucky to get in one. It's really hard to get to the gym in New England in the winter when there's snow everywhere and by the time you get done with work and a workout it's dark outside!

I've ...
