paislig | I don't know why it took me so long to figure this out, but I just realized that recommended portion sizes included in the nutrient information on package labels is based on a 2000 calorie diet.
Since beginning NM, I had been diligently weighing my food based on these recommendations and running out of calories or exceeding my weight loss calories, before the day is over. My weight goals had been impossible to attain, with only 5# lost of my 10# goal.
With a maintenance calorie allotment at around 1500 calories per day (not factoring in exercise), my portion sizes should ... |

ewentla | I just have to share....
I am obsessive about weighing and portioning all my foods (I think I have commented on other posts about this as well). When someone comes into our kitchen at work and makes a can of condensed soup (or a frozen dinner) and say "its only 350 calories", I just shake my head and think "what could I do with 350 calories?" What I see in a can of soup is sodium and drinking my calories. Now, I am all for a good soup, but one can does not satisfy me (nor do the frozen meals).
