No, no, no, don't look at my shoes.
My clodhoppers can never compare to Kel's. Not in a million years.
I made salads in jars.
My colors are a little different, I used green peppers instead of orange and I had artichoke hearts instead of olives.
Yummy. ... |

As Karyn will obviously agree, my echoing the content of your emails is a *big* sign from the universe.....
Your involvement in an enterprise that brings together all those things mentioned is really important....probably to both self and those involved/touched.
I'd be happy to serve on your creative planning team and board...!! (Not kidding!) ... |

The other day, Kel shared that I don't play nice in the sandbox and put me in time out for not sharing a recipe with her.
I deserved it, after all, it's a deliciously good recipe. You can see from the top, we made sure there was no evidence...just in case Kel popped in from Minnesota and wanted to know where her share was!

What will she say when she finds out I logged an egg to eat for breakfast yesterday and JUST realized I never cooked it, let alone rememberd to eat it.
We still have a few of our good friend's home grown chicken eggs left in the fridge and they are all sorts of shapes and sizes. I had picked out a cute little aqua colored egg to eat yesterday and as I just opened the carton, I saw that all the eggs we had yesterday are still there--including that cute little sucker.
Unless they are multiplying, I actually did not ... |

I am going through them now and cracking up at the names on some of them. Susan, anytime you have (OH MY!) after a recipe, I surely cannot delete it! And Karyn, I love how you name things with "Awesome" in the title after "Greg". And Kel, how many pizzas do you have? Not hiding a one ;-)

With the exception of Wednesday, I have been eating the same salad since Monday. Truth be told, I'd have eaten it on Wednesday, too, but our house scavenger pooch Estie ate an entire block of cheese when I wasn't looking and without it the salad simply isn't complete!
Seriously, this is one of those foods that makes you feel amazing when you eat it. I honestly am glowing from the inside out. And the taste? Why the heck do you think I've eaten so much of the stuff? It's amazing! Ironically, I've never been much of ... |

But, Kel just sent me a message telling me that she saw me on the front page of tastespotting.com tonight. I will be much less posty tomorrow (one can only hope) and, even less dramatic when I do!

1greytmom | After thoroughly enjoying Kel's TGIF and cruising through her trip pics, I had to share my breakfast this morning. It fully embraced her idea of using what we have here to make new gastronomic delights that love us back and provide true pleasure to eat.
This morning, I made French Toast out of Cinnamon Raisin bread from Trader Joe's, a farm-fresh egg, milk and cinnamon.
This was topped by homemade applesauce from the tree that finally produced enough apples for me to do something with!
On top of that, Brown Cow cream top plain yogurt and a drizzle of honey.

Kel's TGIF: In the Heart of Italy gave me goosebumps and tears this morning.
The Italians have made a life of loving the foods that love them back. I am so glad Kel that you got to go and experience this and that you brought back this wonderful message for all of us!
And if you haven't checked it out folks, I recommend it highly!

A few weeks ago when I met up with Kel, she Kel'd me into going for a morning run. I had gotten out of the habit of running and, quite frankly, was doing only minimal exercise needed to maintain current level of weight and strength.
I have gone for a run several times per week since. Not a lot, not long distances and certainly nothing to break any time records. Mind you, I ... |

Every summer from the ages of 4 to 11 I remember going to my Nana and Papa’s house in Vermont. It was a 6 hour drive. My poor mother. Four girls constantly harping at my mother with Are we there yet?
We made several stops along the way. Pit stops called for by clammering kids; okay, so we all didn’t have to pee at the same time! Lunch was always packed; some sandwiches, chips, and cookies. They always seemed to taste better in a rest area sitting at a picnic table under the hot August sun.
There was nothing like finally ... |

MelissaEileen | I turned on the local news this morning and the first story that came on was, "the latest money saving trend for women is going 365 days without buying a new item of clothing." I thought, this had to be inspired by Kel's Closet blog! Especially since her blog was recently featured on the Glamour Magazine website. The story went on to say that you could possibly save over $1000 a year if you did this. Kel, you've started something big and at such a perfect time in this economy. ... |

"One of the things to be learned is that on NM, healthy food does not mean food that is lacking in comfort! I love all of my food choices, otherwise I would not be eating them. There is something truly comforting about a warm bowl of oatmeal, or a chicken burger piled high with avocado, tomato with some grilled asparagus on the side. You will get there.
