The American Heart Association recommends most people keep their sodium to a shockingly low (according to my food log) 1200mg a day (the current suggested max is 2300mg/day). This is because many people are salt-sensitive, and this new figure could significantly lower blood pressure and promote heart health.
At least the AHA recognizes that 1200mg is a ridiculous number if you don't make all of your food from scratch, and so they are also going to work with several federal agencies to try to lower the amount of salt added to commercial foods. In the interim, they suggest that everyone at ... |

This is a campaign from the American Heart Association to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Chances are if you're on this site it's because you're battling with weight or you are out of shape, and that means you are at higher risk for heart disease!
