continue reading 7 comments August 26, 2009, 2:18 pm woooohoooo!!!! | I weigh in on Saturdays...this past saturday I passed a "mind goal"..I never really set this particular goal but in the back of my mind I always thought about it...I now am at a weight I haven't been down to in TEN years!!!!!! Now I still have quite a ways to go but to be "smaller" than I have been in 10 years feels AWESOME...This was a big boost for me to keep up all my hard work and make sure that I meet a huge goal by my NM one year anniversary Sept 19th...I am so excited about this...everyday ... |

continue reading 10 comments June 19, 2009, 5:12 pm Oatmeal vs cream of wheat | I want to like oatmeal, I really do but no matter how I make it I end up choking down the last few bites...I just can't eat it...I do try to eat it once in awhile....what about cream of wheat? Is it just as good for you as oatmeal? I tasted it today and like it so much better than oatmeal...someone PLEASE tell me it is good to eat cream of wheat....thanks for the help

continue reading 14 comments June 18, 2009, 7:29 pm protein smoothie | I just made a protein smoothie recipe I got from an email, it's from Jillian Michaels...I didn't think I would like it but still wanted to try it and it was really good...it called for strawberries but I used a berry medley...here's what's in it:
3/4 cup skim milk
1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt
1 1/3 Tbs peanut butter
3 oz tofu
2 Tbs protein powder (of your choice)
1/2 cup berry medley(strawberries, blueberries, blackberries,& raspberries)
8 ice cubes
blend all together in blender...I had a one cup serving..it will make 4 cups
some nutrition info for one cup serving:
120 calories..5g fat..74 g sodium..11g protein

continue reading 3 comments June 10, 2009, 7:28 am making progress | I was not exercising regularly when I first started NM in sept 08...once a wk,maybe...well, since february I have been exercising 4-6 days a week, usually 5 days a wk..anyway, I am making progress!!! I had no upper body strength at all...I can lift more weights than I used to..I can do more reps, I use the elliptical quite often..when I first started I could barely make it 10 min, with no incline and resis 1...now I go for 40-55 min...I start it on incline 6 with resis on 6 and go to 13 incline and resis 10, I go ... |

continue reading 4 comments May 13, 2009, 6:28 pm Question about my Polar HRM | I used my new Polar HRM tonight at the gym...I love it so far...My question is the accuracy of the calories burned...all my info is entered correctly and I do have ALOT of weight still to lose...my heart rate stayed between 155-158 for 45 min, the monitor said I burned 1100 calories!!!! that seem like a whole bunch of calories, don't get me wrong, if it is accurate then that is awesome...I just want to be sure before I log all these calories burned... anyone who has Polar know if it is accurate? They were sooooo good...my kids even loved them and my youngest doesn't ever eat salmon with us...she doesn't like and yesterday she was asking when I was going to make them again. My mom and my sister in law were over and they liked them, too..Thanks for that recipe!!! If no one else has tried it, you should...I can't get over how good they are!!!

My kids are out of school for spring break so I thought I would take some of my vacation time while they are out so we can spend quality time together...bad idea!!! continue reading 7 comments April 4, 2009, 8:19 am 5 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!!! | OMG..I have been doing pretty good this last few months..since the middle of January I have been losing 1.4 to 2 pounds most weeks..couple of times there was no loss, but I didn't get discouraged..I stepped up my exercise some this week and I lost 5 POUNDS!!!! The 14 yr old applied to a college prep high school to start next school yr(9th grade) & she got accepted!! That is a total of 13.8 lbs since January 17th...30 lbs since Sept 19,'08. I haven't been this weight in over 3 years, probably closer to 4 years. I even put on a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 3-4 yrs...they fit & aren't even tight!!!! It has been sooo hard but sooo worth it. I am more motivated now than I have been in a long time. Still have a long way to go, but I am getting there...finally getting there.
