Polar HRM customer service response

I just want to share the response I got from Polar customer service...I questioned the calories burned counter on the HRM, they seemed very high to me...this was part of their response: "Hi Christina,
thanks for your email and questions on the F11 calorie calculation. Based on the information you sent, it appears that the F11 estimates the calorie consumption ok. Naturally, varies a bit from one activity to another. Your resting daily energy expenditure is appr. 2100-2200 kcals(appr. 1,5 kcal/min) based on the formulas used in the calorie calculations. I believe that you can quite safely use the F11 in estimating the burned calories during weight control activities."

I don't know how true that statement is, but I do know the more you weigh the more calories you burn. So, I went to the site that cocorhum recommended, BTW, thanks for that and it told me I burned 902 calories...so I guess it is off some but not that much, about 200 hundred calories for yesterday's exercise...I will take off 200-400 calories off depending on what I do and double check it with glamour.com....any other suggestions is welcome...thanks for the suggestions on yesterday's post

Christina
