Lightly sprinkle or brush water over the pita, then add salt. The water allows the salt to stick - brilliant! Place on a cookie sheet, toast in the oven or broiler or toaster oven. We tear, cut into triangles, and at times cut into strips, whatever we feel like. With the pita bread, make sure you separate the two layers (1 pita gives you 12 chips, which is a serving -not bad). Cook until just toasty brown -watch closely. Mom made a spicy black bean dip to go along with the chips, but as I was entering the recipe into the database, we realized the database is missing one of the main ingredients (and we threw the can out!). So the black bean dip will have to wait until another day (after I go to the market and pick up that special ingredient). This is our first teaser...so stay tuned! The dip is great by the way, I ate it today along with some chips as my afternoon snack. ![]()
