I died in the dentist chairOne thing that commonly goes with lupus is Raynaud's Syndrome. It is a circulation problem and is actually quite painful. If you haven't heard of it, or don't know what it is, google it. It's kind of freaky to other people when I am having an episode!
Back to my death by the dentist- I was getting my wisdom teeth out a few years ago, and as we ALL know, the dentist office is usually freezing cold, generally what sets off an episode. So, they put me under to cut out the teeth, and stick a blood oxygen censor on my finger to monitor everything. Well, apparently mid way through the procedure the thing starts setting alarms off because it is not getting a reading on anything. They look at my hand it is dead white and there is no blood running through my hands. He was scared to death that he had killed me and I got a HUGE lecture when I woke up from the procedure.
I think it is funny now, but I could see how it would freak him out!
This also happened to me when I was in the ER for double pneumonia. It was a teaching hospital, so the doctor went to get his students and take picture of my white hands and feet.
I randomly thought of all of this when I was taking a shower this morning, it always makes me laugh! Hope you all have a great day!
