![]() female, 26 years old Boston, MA | June 26, 2009, 11:48 am A week without NM is like a week without sunshine...Although I'm hoping I'll have plenty of sunshine! My husband and I are going to be on a building trip to Eastern Kentucky for the next week. Besides going crazy getting all the details ready (I mean, I just finished teaching on Tuesday, and I've spent the entirety of my summer vacation so far running errands and doing chores!) I will be without computers for a week.I'm not too worried about exercise, as we will be spending 10 hour days painting, building, etc. Wednesday we have off for a fun day, and I think we'll go hiking or canoeing, so that should take care of that. The downsides, besides having no access to my food log, is that I will be spending 1.5 days both ways in a van eating fast food for every meal (I'm prepared with apples and other "good" snacks, and continental breakfasts are usually passable) and that apparently the meals planned for our group are going to consist of things like hot dogs and pizza (half of the group is made up of teenagers, but seriously!). I've been insistent that we need to have enough fruits, vegetables and water, and I think I've been heard by the group leaders. Maybe if I'm too disgusted with the group fare I'll stick to my apples and really lose a lot of weight! By the way, I'm 11.5 pounds away from my maintenance goal, and at 1.1 pounds a week I should be there by the time I start classes in September. Sweet! Let's just hope this trip doesn't derail my weight-loss train!
