TGIF with Kel 12/23/2011: It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Why does the most wonderful time of the year have to coincide with the busiest, most stressful time of year?

The last two years, I was able to put together a couple of Holiday TGIFs.

I don't think I have been any busier this year than years' past. I guess in the past I simply made the time.

So, what have I been doing this week instead of putting together a 2011 Holiday video?

My boys came home last Saturday!

They are now both taller than me.
They drink more milk than ever.
They fight a little less with each other.
Alex actually seems to like spending time with me!

So that is what I have been doing when not at work. Buying milk, talking with the boys (not yelling), and cooking with Alex!

He has made the decision to be a firefighter. I decided that I needed to prepare him for an important role; cooking for the other firefighters! He said they don't do that anymore; I think he needs to revive that tradition.

This week, Alex and I have made macaroni and cheese, speculoos cookies, sliders with homemade wheat buns, and deep dish pizza.

He now knows how to properly measure flour, make some darned good cookies, prepare and enjoy macaroni and cheese that does not come from a box, and make a really good pizza!

TJ has spent most of his time in his room. While they fight less, they still fight. He is safer there!

In the past videos, I reminded you to enjoy the food of the holiday, but more importantly, enjoy the time with your family. That is what the holidays are really about!

Hopefully, I can get a picture of all of my boys to share this weekend.

So, before I go back to enjoying time with all my boys, including the furriest of the bunch, I do have a video to share!

Earlier this week, Alex spent a day teaching Paco to sit. The video was the result of his efforts. I was so happy that I captured this moment. Alex looks so proud!

By the way, Alex, now that I know how to upload to youtube, may I remind you about the frog video from 2009? Hey, don't look at me in shock! At 17, Santa doesn't work anymore!
