Hypochondriac

We are all about getting healthy and feeling good here on NM. This is a funny story about my brother.

My youngest brother was a true hypochondriac as a young kid through mid-teenage years. He had every illness or disease imaginable, from cancer, to diabetes, and aids, if you described an illness within his ears reach, then he had it.

When he was 13 years old, he was certain he had something wrong with his health. He requested to go to the doctor because he thought he had aids. My mom said she would take him, because she felt it was easier to have a doctor explain to him about aids. She was not good at this kind of stuff, so she made an appointment. The doctor does his examination, and he finds my brother to be in good health… but my brother was not convinced. The doctor asked him what it was that he thought he had, my brother said, aids. The doctor said no, no, you do not have aids… so he asked him if his urine was light or dark. My brother responded that it was dark. This concerned the doctor and he asked what color is dark? My brother said it was brown. So the doctor said, I need you to give me a urine sample. He gives my brother a cup and tells him to go to the bathroom and bring him back a sample. My brother goes to the bathroom and my mom said it was taking him a real long time. So the doctor comes back to the room anticipating my brother to be there. My mom tells him, he has not returned. So my mom went to the restroom, just as he opens the door and pokes his head out. My mom says, “What is taking you so long?” My brother asked, “Does he really want me to poop in the cup?”

Haha! The doctor explained to him about aids and told him he did not have the illness. So my brother went on to find another illness!

As an adult, he is pretty healthy in mind, body and spirit. He is a nut.. he can be a stand up comedian, with his life stories... he has taken so much out what we can look back and feel bad for him, but he makes us laugh instead.
