Fueling workouts

Blaizin' said something in a post that got me thinking. She asked if I "fueled" my workouts.

What?

So... I'm assuming it means eating right before a workout.

I just read Kel's post about eating 400 cals so she could run, and I thought I'd post my question to the group:

What do you guys do to fuel your workout? Is it a before and after thing? How long before? What if it's a super early workout and you can only have a small bite before- do you do a lot after- and if so, what?
