About Me

I'm 38 and have been fighting my weight for years. Up to 230 down to 180...... I've done Weight watchers (numerous times), South Beach, Atkins, Fat Flush. I've done them all! None of them teach you the basic calorie in- calorie out methods. Nor do they teach you how to eat a balanced diet.

I'm very excited about this site. It seems to focus more on health and fitness than on loosing weight. Although that will happen as well, it's nice to be doing this for other reasons than just my waistline. No more counting points- ever!

My Goals

Very lofty... bathing suit (dare I say bikini) by Christmas?

Okay, maybe that won't happen. Let's say under 200 lbs by January. I'll reward myself with a horseback riding course- you have to be under 200 pounds to register. :)

My ultimate goals are as follows:
-participate in the Lava Man on the Big Island of Hawaii next March. 1 m swim, 15 m bike, 5 k run.
-Look better in a bathing suit than I have in years during our Hawaii vacation!
-Wear a size 6- whatever weight that puts me at.
-Be able to run our hiking trails.
-Have firm shapely thighs and a flat tummy!

Had to add this one
-Be able to run up a flight of stairs without getting winded.
-Be able to walk up 8 flights without stopping. (one of the places I go for work is on the 8th floor, and the elevator is scary!)
