T-Shirt Awards: "I Resign"

by jim_ray
11/05/09, 11:31 am

Yes it's true. I can't do this anymore. It is just too hard. I can award winners just fine. My problem is passing by the fifty other people that have earned a free shirt to name just one winner; especially since I'm sitting not more than thirty feet from the inventory.

So, I've recruited some help to take the pressure off. Three of your fellow members have kindly agreed to jump into the pressure cooker and make the slections instead.

Drum roll please:

On Friday's posts/comments: Kel

On Saturday's Posts/comments: Blazimomma

On Sunday's Post/comments: Lmatava

Good luck. I look forward to funny, satirical, deep, ...

"Green in All Aspects": What to Do?

by jim_ray
11/05/09, 9:54 am

Thank you N Baker for your provocative "Green in All Aspects" post. Obviously, it touched a chord in me. I tried commenting at your post but timed out. And, since it is a subject I think of often (most every day just because I live in the same world all of you do) and becasue I own the microphone, I thougt I'd respond more broadly. I'd like to hear what others have to say about what you and I are thinking.

Nbaker,

Now you've gotten me started on a favorite mind-reel I never talk about here (or anywhere else).

Thanks for the ...

Adventures in Web Serving — Update

by mike
11/04/09, 9:39 pm

Well that was a fun day.

I don't even know how to begin to tell you all we've been through since about 6 a.m. this morning, but I'll just summarize by saying that we're finally on our new web server, a few days earlier than our much-delayed plan.

Whoopee?

Anyway, there are still problems, mainly this: Most of you can't log into the site.

As a temporary fix, you can try issuing a new password here:

Password reminder page

One caution with this, though: If you don't have access to the email address associated with your NutriMirror account, this will send your new passwords ...

Site is Back Online

by mike
11/03/09, 4:52 am

Apologies for the delay this morning getting things back up and running. Last night's maintenance work took a lot longer than I had anticipated.

Most basic site functions should be running properly now, but there are still a few things I need to fix.

I'll continue to look through your comments below to take care of any errors you find.

Thanks! ...

Exercise Log Trouble — Fixed?

by mike
11/02/09, 10:44 am

Hi everybody,

Microsoft seems to have invented a new problem for us today. If you're using the Internet Explorer browser, you might be having trouble logging your exercises using Method One. Until I can get this working properly again, you'll have better luck if you try an alternate browser like Firefox or Safari.

If these aren't already on your computer, you can download them for free here:

Download Firefox

Download Safari

UPDATE: I think I may have tracked down the magic unicorn that granted my wish and made Internet Explorer behave like a good web browser should. Let me know if ...

Bonus Sunday Winner: Georgiae

by jim_ray
11/02/09, 9:38 am

It was a tough choice (there are so many excellent posts to consider). It fact, this choosing thing is taking a toll on me. I'm losing hair I can no longer afford to lose. So, I'm handing off the selection reins to younger, stronger, abler hands than my own through the rest of the year. However, I just had to make this last "bonus" award for Sunday posts.
-------------------------------------
Georgiae says "I didnt meet my goal, but that's ok".

She's still pounds from the ideal weight goal she imagined for herself. However, she's feeling great about hersef and is quite comfortable living ...

Sun. Winner:

by jim_ray
11/02/09, 8:41 am

Jannie2 is Sundays winner. Her post is below the broken lines.

Even though she's losing faster than we normally recommned it was her realization that there is "a liftime to go" that caught my attention and made me smile. The fact that she has lowered her sodium so much told me she is focused on making the right choices.

Then, when I looked at her food logs I thought, "by jove, she's got it". She's spreading her calories pretty evenly throughout the day, eating LOTS of food (calories), and is most always close to balance.

It's certainly worth a t-shirt to remind ...

I'm posting this for gouldthorp:

At last count from Carolinagirl1, here’s who’s said they’re coming to the Asheboro, NC Zoo this Saturday (11/7):

susano +1
Mrpicky +1
delia
1greytmom
Justalady
carolinagirl1 +1
lmatava
me

Since the dining plans are still unsettled and lunch in the zoo’s cafeteria will likely put us all in the red, is anyone else planning on bringing along some healthy nibblies and munchies to stave off hunger until dinner/whenever?

I plan to bring a little something to share but need to know how many still plan to attend. Please let me know at gouldthorp@embarqmail.com . Thanks

ps: I'm jealous! Have fun!

SAT. WINNER:

by jim_ray
11/01/09, 7:02 am

Dolly 1224 is the NM T-Shirt Winnerfor her initial Journal Room post: "A Flicker of Hope".

I thought it was an excellent presentation of the fears, hopes, and experiences of so many new people that discover the NM site.

This shirt giveaway is so much more difficult than I thought it would be. I aslo wanted to give shirts to Shelese for sharing her personal trainer, Addison, with us. (The best looking perosnal trainer you'll ever meet).

And, I wanted to award 1GreyTmom for "Drumroll Please". She has finally left obesity behind and is now simply "overweight". A big moment that she ...
